THREE QUESTIONS TO FABIEN AUFRECHTER, HEAD OF HAVAS BLOCKCHAIN
They are our clients, our friends, good contacts or just people we met in the crypto-community. They have new vision, they are running great projects, they are developing new services, or they just want to share their story. Havas Blockchain is interviewing key people of the blockchain ecosystem.
Let’s meet today with Fabien Aufrechter, Head of Havas Blockchain:
(1) First of all, could you tell us a little bit about yourself and about Havas Blockchain?
After my studies in History and communication, I started my career at Havas as a PR consultant. Aside, I have always supported some startups and societies. It’s how I discovered the stakes of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data…and of course blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
In 2017, as we started to receive some request from our clients at Havas, I seized the opportunity and started to accompanied customers together before things gradually structured within Havas in the form of a dedicated offer.
We developed our services and now, Havas blockchain is able to support corporates, startups, Governments and specialized players with incubation offers, consulting, tech and communication services. We have about fifty people in 15 countries already onboarded on our activities.
(2) One year and a half after the launch of Havas Blockchain, a first review of your activities?
Havas Blockchain is a success story of few consultants working super hard to develop from scratch a range of expertise which are almost nonexistent while crucial and promising for the blockchain ecosystem.
In a bit more than a year, we have worked for about 20 projects including some of corporates (eg. Orange’s launch of Le Vote), some of ICOs (Talao, Sandblock, Arteïa, etc), some of Governments (Monaco, LHoFT, etc)…
Our spirit remains exactly the same as it was the very first day: a very hard selection of projects to avoid supporting scams. And a strong will of opening the way and supporting crypto and projects from new players (especially corporates). This is why we have been involved in big events such as the Paris Blockchain Week, we participated in the consultations of the French authorities when they were working on the regulatory framework of the ecosystem, we accepted a range of invitation in more than 15 countries (Slovenia, Serbia, US, China, etc) for conferences…
(3) What is your view on the future of crypto?
At our launch, we said that corporates were coming. Nobody really believed us but soon came Carrefour, Orange, Axa, Renault, LVMH… We then said that GAFA were coming and Libra came. We then said that States would be next, and China is already working super hard on their Crypto-Renminbi. Now, I personally believe that the real next step is adoption. This will take more time, but I believe that within 3 years, most of the work would have been done through stablecoins such as Libra, local money, etc. However, I am not a prophet: on our side, we will just and simply continue to work hard in order to remain ahead of the wave, to innovate and to help our clients to innovate.
