THREE QUESTIONS TO FRANÇOIS BLANC, FOUNDER OF COMMUNIC’ART AND ARTEÏA’S ADVISOR
They are our clients, our friends, good contacts or just people we met in the crypto-community. They have new vision, they are running great projects, they are developing new services, or they just want to share their story. Havas Blockchain is interviewing key people of the blockchain ecosystem.
Let’s meet today with François Blanc, founder of Communic’art and Advisor of Arteïa:
1) Could you tell us about your background?
My name is François Blanc. I am an art collector, as well as a global communication and public relations professional in the field of culture art, design and architecture. In 2004, I founded Communic’Art, a global dedicated communication agency. The same year, I also launched Archipresse Media Consulting, a print, press and internet agency, which advises kiosk press publishers and publish corporate and consumer magazines for companies.
Thanks to my comprehensive knowledge of the art world, I am an adviser of Arteïa.
2) Why have you decided to become one of Arteïa’s advisor?
Arteïa chose to work with me because I am both a collector and a communication and marketing professional. I thus have an in-depth knowledge of the different market players of the art world, both in France and abroad.
Before I started advising Arteïa, I had already thought of creating a system allowing art collectors to interact with each other in order to sell and purchase artworks without being penalized by 40 to 50% of their value.
Indeed, there is today an enormous difference between the price paid by the seller and the effective price paid by the buyer. Drawing from this observation, I’ve been working on my side to disrupt this system. Everybody, in the market, has interest of this change because it will make the contemporary art second market more fluent. That would be deeply profitable for the first market that needs confident collectors.
Therefore, when Arteïa contacted me, I told them that a platform for cataloging collections was interesting only if it also took into account the issues of selling prices. Our mutual interest is based on this vision.
3) What impact do you think Arteïa could have on the art world?
Arteïa is part of a broader trend towards technology integration in exchanges of services. These technologies make complex information available for both professional and novice of the art word.
The information transparency guaranteed by Arteïa allows a more fluid relationship between sellers and buyers.
In addition to this, Arteïa is a tool for collection management. It allows the collectors to know all the elements regarding the place and status of their artworks.
On the whole, thanks to a dedicated team of 25 developers working on the project for 3 years, Arteïa offers better functionalities than any other solution in the same field.
Therefore, Arteïa’s purpose is to enable collectors to take the full measure of the decisions to be made regarding the management of their artworks, the acquisition of news pieces and the development of their collection.
