They are our clients, our friends, good contacts or just people we met in the crypto-community. They have new vision, they are running great projects, they are developing new services or they just want to share their story. Havas Blockchain is interviewing key people of the blockchain ecosystem.

Let’s meet today with Milan Orban, Strategy Consultant Havas Blockchain:

Milan Orban

(1) First of all, can you present your background and your relation to crypto

My background is quite multi-disciplinary. I first studied European Affairs at King’s College London, before studying at Sciences Po in Economics. My professional experiences range from communication, policy, finance and tech industries.

My previous professional experience was decisive for my orientation. I worked in a business research group dedicated to the new technologies and studied their wide impact on economic, social and political structures. This job was a starting point: I realized how far technologies would radically impact economics, politics and science in the very near future. In fact, I also realized that Blockchain would play a significant role in this transformation.

(2) Why did you decide to work at Havas Blockchain?

Havas Blockchain is a wonderful promise to help start-ups, corporates and even Nation-States in their blockchain initiatives. It is also a turnkey support, from consulting, strategy, communication, marketing, and tech advisory, and aims at providing all the right tools for tech companies.

This offer also benefits from Havas marketing agency’s incredible reputation, not only in France but also worldwide.

Joining Havas Blockchain was consequently the right choice for me: it was the opportunity to join a globally renowned agency like Havas and at the same time integrate a niche specialized in what drives my professional career: new technologies.

(3) How do you see Blockchain’s future?

When we navigate on the web, we don’t think about its complex tech protocol. Web navigation has become a simple and instinctive experience.

Today, in contrast, blockchain complex protocols remain at the center of preoccupations and are still nor fully optimal. It is however very probable that tomorrow, Blockchain protocols will just become something underlying and seamless, while the main point of focus will become this technology’s concrete applications.

In fact, blockchain offers very diverse use cases:

Let’s take payments. The Facebook Libra project and probably other private projects over the next months will enable us to pay for the services of thousands of companies through simplified interfaces, securely, and without third-parties. In parallel, I strongly believe more and more governments and central banks will decide to adopt their own crypto-currencies, as a concrete reply to private crypto-currency projects.

On the political field, this technology can facilitate citizen participation by contributing to a more transparent and secure voting process. And let’s think about developing countries’ daunting tasks, where land registry rate is very low: blockchain could become a decentralized way to secure property ownerships.

Or let’s focus on entertainments. On video games, blockchain will enable us to have the unique digital property of some items having a unique identity, and therefore provide them with a real economic value. It will enable the possibility to earn items and even use them in other games.

All these examples are not exhaustive. Blockchain can be applied to anything that concerns a transfer of value or data. Its applications are consequently infinite! Without a doubt, an increasingly large pool of people will progressively speak about blockchain. Being at the center of this ecosystem is very exciting.
