THREE QUESTIONS TO STEPHANE DJIANE, CEO AND CO-FOUNDER OF GLOBAL P.O.S
They are our clients, our friends, good contacts or just people we met in the crypto-community. They have new vision, they are running great projects, they are developing new services, or they just want to share their story. Havas Blockchain is interviewing key people of the blockchain ecosystem.
Let’s meet today with Stéphane Djiane, CEO and Co-Founder of Global P.O.S :
1. Who are you and can you tell us a bit more about your background?
My name is Stéphane Djiane, I am the CEO and co-founder of Global POS. I am passionate about business creation and have mainly worked in entrepreneurship. These years in the entrepreneurship ecosystem led me to become an expert in strategic development, management and business tasks.
Global POS is the story of this passion for innovation and willingness to offer complete, transversal, adaptable solutions from the field. Easy2Play is a connected, multi-channel and scalable transactional platform that simplifies the process of managing prepaid securities and alternative payments, developed by Global POS, a Montpellier-based company.
The platform is currently deployed in more than 25,000 stores in real-time, including major brands such as Jouet Club, Cultura, Séphora, Conforama, Boulanger, Maison du Monde, Décathlon…
At the heart of Easy2Play, the “Payment” solution aims to offer ever more payment methods in stores and to facilitate their acceptance at the checkout with, until now, dematerialized meal vouchers, mobile payment or multi-store cards and gift cards.
Our team behind Easy2Play is composed of experts who, with fifteen years at the heart of the Global POS team, have been developing software solutions from the field that meet customers’ needs.

2. Why did you develop this new technological solution which will allow brands to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment as of Q1 2020 ?
Easy2Play Payment, our platform at the heart of Global POS, is designed to promote alternative payments’ acceptance. It is with this in mind and in all logic that we have studied the possibility of opening the acceptance of payments in crypto-assets.
This new solution aims to open up the field of possibilities for users by allowing them to make their purchases in cryptocurrency without impacting companies’ usual functioning.
Above all, it meets a real demand from consumers who own cryptocurrencies in Europe. 35% of them, according to the 2018 Cambridge study, would like to be able to spend their cryptocurrencies in physical points of sale.
This project is very simple since it doesn’t involve additional hardware installation, the switch to cryptocurrency acceptance will require a simple update of the module for merchants.
Once a consumer wishes to make a purchase in cryptocurrencies, the operation will take place in three steps:
- Time 1: the customer opens his application and enters the amount to be paid, which then generates a QR code to validate the transaction.
- Time 2: The merchant then scans the QR code and starts the transaction.
- Time 3: Global POS and its trusted partners confirm the transaction and complete the conversion into euros paid to the merchant in a few seconds.
The whole project is designed within the legal framework defined by the French State with the PACTE law. Our partners, who will be the only stakeholders to handle cryptocurrencies, are currently applying for accreditation to become a Service Provider for Digital Assets (PSAN) to be delivered in 2020.
3.. What are your next steps?
From today we are carrying out a technology in a testing and quality control phase in a few stores in Paris.
This solution will, therefore, be available from 2020 for the brands we support, they will be free to decide whether to activate this service.
Our objective is to strengthen our solution development and to onboard more brands to allow for cryptocurrency payments’ democratization.
However, there are still many areas of development: acceptance of crypto currencies such as the Ether for example, and many more projects on the horizon!
